The Cats Pyjamas, Leeds.

The Cat's Pyjamas was an established and popular Indian Street food restaurant in Headingley but for this second site in Leeds City Centre the client wanted us to work with her to develop the interior brand identity.

The premises, on two floors, needed a complete refurbishment and we worked to create a bar on the first floor and a restaurant  and kitchen on the ground floor.

Working with the concept 'Outside' we designed an interior that reflected an Indian food market street: the kitchen is a corrugated iron clad street food shack, the ceiling represents the night sky and brightly coloured murals and graffiti adorn the walls. Upstairs the bar is dark, and industrial touches add an urban feel.

Olive and Thai, Leeds.

We were excited to be asked to design this new restaurant in one of Leeds’ historic arcades. Our client wanted an interior that represented not only her love of Thai cuisine but her love of nature and landscape.

The building comprises many small rooms on different levels so space planning was essential to ensure maximum use of the spaces available.

We used vibrant warm colours to represent the taste of Thai foods, and strong patterns and painted wall murals add individuality and an eclectic touch.

Hospitality Design

Tavassoli’s, Leeds.

The brief was to provide the brand and interior for this new cafe bar and grill in Leeds.

On one of the oldest streets in the city centre, the building needed a complete refurbishment but benefits from high ceilings and an abundance of light, and is on two floors. The design concept was ‘Industrial Simplicity’: - we wanted to acknowledge the building's heritage but also give the interior a contemporary twist.

The walls were stripped and clad in faux brick, which was then hand painted. The flooring is in wood tiles. Furniture is in leather and wood, and bespoke metal work was commissioned for the signage and the stairs. Lighting and hexagonal tiles in grey and white add a contemporary and minimalist touch.

De Baga, Headingley, Leeds.

We were excited to create a beach themed interior for this new Goan restaurant in Headingley, Leeds.

The brief was to create a dark, beach-hut style interior, to provide a moody and atmospheric setting for the Goan fine cuisine.

The use of wood and two types of bamboo sit alongside the strong branding images of tigers, and works well with the turquoise tiles, rope and hessian lighting.

Hospitality Design

HFC, Leeds.

We were asked by an established chicken takeaway restaurant in Leeds to design a new concept and direction for their brand, and for the new premises in Roundhay, Leeds.

The design takes the brand in a bold new direction with bold splashes of yellow, and strong urban references of brick, neon, metal and wood.

Hospitality Design

Salvo’s, Headingley, Leeds.

The brief was to extend and update this family-run, popular Headingley restaurant.
A shop unit was acquired next door which would increase the space by 50%. Construction saw the demolition of the party walls, an extended kitchen and the WCs moved  upstairs.
The concept for the design was ‘1950s Urban’. Vintage touches such as the wallpaper and the furniture give a sense of the 50′s home and are mixed in with other more urban  elements such as the brick walls, the aluminium bar and the industrial light fittings. Old authentic family photographs are  used on acoustic panels to help reduce sound levels.

Penny Black, Yeadon, West Yorkshire

A full design service was required to create a new bar, restaurant and music venue in West Yorkshire.

The client wanted a robust interior, making use of materials such as brick, wood and metal. The brief was for an industrial style interior

The concept for the design 'Cog' takes into account the industrial heritage of Yeadon as a mill town and is seen most strongly in the curved upper floor area and in the curved bar.
